Translation Services

Writing professional documents in one language takes knowledge, skill and expertise. By working with professional translators, you can be sure that your translation accurately transfers the message of your original text and helps you achieve your aims.

Our in-house team specialises in translations between German, French, Spanish and English, and our network of freelance colleagues means that we are able to offer other language combinations too. Our skilled translators are at the centre of our translation process, so you can be confident that the translations you receive will meet your needs.

We are experts in technical, legal and patent translation, with over twenty-five years of experience helping lawyers, patent attorneys and inventors to develop international patent portfolios, navigate national translation requirements and communicate across language and cultural borders.

The translation technologies we use allow us to produce consistent translations which incorporate your style guides and glossaries, meaning that your translated documents will reflect the tone and voice of the original text in a new language.

Our translation specialisms

IP and patent translation

Our translators have twenty-five years of experience translating patents, trade mark certificates, written opinions, litigation and other supporting documents. We also offer comparison translation and figure adaptation.

We are able to provide certified translations that satisfy international filing requirements and have a thorough understanding of the European patent system.

Technical
translation

We are able to translate a wide range of technical documents such as manuals, guides, brochures, white papers, reports and procedures.

We can also provide summaries in English of documents written in another language and adapt texts specifically for a UK audience.

Legal
translation

We have experience of translating texts from a range of legal fields including commercial documentation, wills, property deeds, contracts and exhibits.

All documents are treated with the strictest confidence and we are able to provide sworn or notorised translations in the Colchester area.

Personal documents

We can provide translations of short personal documents under 500 words such as birth certificates, passports, correspondence and exam results for a set fee of £96 (£80 + VAT).

We can also provide self-certification documents, as well as notorised and sworn translations in the Colchester area.

1

Get in touch

Contact us through our website, send us an email or use the "quotation" page to request a quote and we will get back to you to discuss your project.

We will need to know the subject of the text, the language(s) you would like to translate it from and into, how long it is and when you would like it returned. We will always ask to see a copy of the text before confirming your order.

2

We translate your text

At least two translators will work on your text. The first will complete the translation, applying any style guides or glossaries you have provided, and the second will check it and suggest any improvements before returning it to the first to be finalised.

We may get in touch with you during the translation process if something is unclear or we need additional information.

3

Your translation is returned

We will send you the completed translation by your preferred method by the deadline agreed at the start of the project.

We may also send you notes if there is anything that you might need to know about, such as errors in the original document.

We are happy to discuss the translation with you and explain any translation decisions once you have reviewed the text.
