This week, we have had the pleasure of welcoming Nicola to the office as part of her work experience placement. Below, she has written a short post summing up her experiences and the benefits of learning outside the classroom.
Today marks the end of my week of work experience at Priory Translations. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and have learnt a lot about translation as a process. At my school,
languages have always been my favourite subject and I’ve been very interested in all areas of work and other life experiences that you can explore with languages, now that I’ve experienced a week working with translators I understand a lot more about what they do and how they do it. I’ve also learnt how to journey alone on a train and navigate myself to a new place- life skills I can’t learn inside my French classroom. I’m grateful to have been given this opportunity by Priory Translations and I am now even more inspired to continue my path in languages, wherever it takes me.
It's been a real pleasure to have Nicola in the office this week and the whole team wishes you all the best with your studies!
